Republicans in the Senate losing patience with the Teabaggers?  Oh say it isn't so.

Tornadoes.

I see the usual bigots are out to blame the gays for the tornadoes that hit Oklahoma. Since we're in the business of assigning subjectively chosen blame for natural disasters made worse by human-caused climate change, I'm going out on a limb and blaming the fossil fuel industry.

It Has Been Awhile

Years, in fact, since I have posted here. But a grand total of two (2) recent comments made me think I'm on the verge of the big time. . . Seriously, I appreciated the few comments I've received since I let this blog sit. I can irritate far more people, many of which are friends, than I can on this little blog. But what the hell. Time to update!

Dwindling White Nonurban America

Frank Rich of the New York Times as an excellent piece on the Sarah Palin fiasco. The column is available by clicking on the title of this post. An excerpt:
She is not just the party’s biggest star and most charismatic television performer; she is its only star and charismatic performer. Most important, she stands for a genuine movement: a dwindling white nonurban America that is aflame with grievances and awash in self-pity as the country hurtles into the 21st century and leaves it behind.
Brutal. But right on the mark.
